Algae and Mold is the easiest problem to clean off your roof.

Moss
The Moss was so thick I put the wand parallel to the roof and was able to roll it up like a carpet.
When Moss is left to grow and spread on your roof it will start to grow up under the shingle. This is not good
Lichin
Lichin is the hardest infestation to clean. Notice it growing underneath the shingle. This is not good.

Moss is a plant species that grows really well in moist cool areas. Moss does not have flowers or seeds, they must have a damp environment to grow in because they do not have any root system to secure water
YES!. A low to No-Pressure Roof cleaning method recomended by the Roof Manufacturers is used. The solution is sprayed on the roof with a low pressure electric pump. The Moss and Lichin will be killed and turm white in the process. Then after sitting on the roof for 20 to 30 minutes if your roof is walkable we will clean everything of with a little more pressure then your garden hose giving instant results
Roof cleaning can be done any time the temperature is over 40 degrees. As you can see in the pictures the moss and Lichin can grow up under the shingles. This will lift them up and cause premature failure of your very expensive roof. Of course cleaning your roof will give your home a lot more Curb Appeal.
Lichin is the real problem to remove. In the cleaning process some of the lichin will take the small pebbles off the shingle. This picture is a extreme case of Lichin and the Insurance company would not renew the home owners insurance without having their roof cleaned. I am starting to see this more and more.
When cleaning a roof with a very steep pitch that we cant walk on we will treat and kill the infestation and let it fall off over time. No washing after the treatment. The idea id the Lichin will losen its grip on the shingle and fall off without the pebbles. This happend to most but some still take the grit with them, I have inspected roofs before we started and saw the black spots where the lichin was. In some situations the lichin ate thru the shingle. This is why you should clean your roof in the early stages of infestation.
